Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Others Over a Bizarre Tennis-Baseball Mix

After the incredible success of pickleball, it looks like a new sport is ready to take the world by storm. It is tennis-baseball. The new sport is nothing but a combination of a pitcher serving a tennis ball at the batter instead of pitching, with players all around the ballpark using a racket to hit the ball to the bases. It’s clear that playing baseball with tennis rackets will pique the interest of many fans of both sports. Recently, a fan expressed a desire to compete in this incredible fusion of sports while including tennis and baseball greats in the same frame.

And there is one tennis star who is already ready to try this combination of two totally opposite sports in one field. It is none other than Taylor Townsend, the 27-year-old American professional who is eager to play tennis-baseball.

Taylor Townsend accepts a tennis-baseball request

For the past few months, tennis-baseball has become a fascinating game in the US. Seeing the emergence of this trend in America, a fan took to his Instagram account to invite a few tennis players to be in his team while they play the baseball version of tennis.

He shared a video of a tennis channel in which a group of people were playing tennis-baseball. Along with that video, he wrote, “Who wants to play tennis baseball with us?” He invited tennis players including Coco Gauff, Sloane Stephens, Frances Tiafoe, John Isner, and Taylor Townsend. In addition, he also invited Venus and Serena Williams, along with Roger Federer.

While he is still waiting on a lot of invites, the 27-year-old American tennis player accepted his invitation on Instagram and is ready to play tennis-baseball on his team. She wrote, “I’m there; tell me where and when.”

In any case, the American tennis star is undoubtedly eager to try out this team variation of the sport. Both sports are extremely popular in the US. But similar to Pickleball, some people are interested in playing this mixed sport where they can have team spirit but use tennis rackets instead of baseball bats.

It will be interesting to hear what Federer and the Williams sisters have to say about this pairing in the world of sports. Will they join Townsend to play this combination? Share your thoughts in the comment section below.
