Real Madrid keeper Thibaut Courtois is currently recovering from an ACL injury, and received an incredible gift from Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry:
Sending Courtois a get well soon jersey, Curry wrote, “To Thibaut, from one Warrior to another… come back strong! This is your Warrior season. Get well soon champ!”
It’s always very cool to see star athletes from different sports show support for one another. Having gone through different injuries himself, Curry wants to show support for Courtois while he deals with the mental and physical hurdles of rehab and recovery.
It’s never easy coming back from a major injury, but it can become even more difficult when the mental side of recovery becomes an obstacle. Professional athletes are not only elite at their sports, but they are elite competitors as well. Not being able to compete can be one of the most difficult parts of injury recovery, which is why it’s important and impactful when a player like Curry shows their support for another player like this.
Sports are always one of the best unifiers, and this is a great example of how star players from across different sports can come together in support for one another when there is an athlete in need of encouragement.
