The 93rd National Day celebrations in Saudi Arabia were enthusiastically embraced by Brazilian football sensation Neymar da Silva, who is presently playing for Al Hilal SFC. As a show of support for the Saudi people, the great athlete dressed in traditional Saudi attire and joined his colleagues in performing the famous Ardha dance.
One of the top football clubs in Saudi Arabia, Al Hilal, held a large celebration to mark the event. With the traditional Saudi attire of a “thobe” (traditional robe), “shemagh” (headscarf), and “aqal” (headband), Neymar, who is renowned for his great football talents, showed his love for Saudi culture.
Neymar wasn’t the only foreign football professional participating in the festivities; several others did as well. A number of celebrities, including Riyad Mahrez, Marcelo Brozovic, Sadio Mane, and Cristiano Ronaldo, proudly wore Saudi attire during the occasion. The assembly of international talent dressed in traditional garb represented the mingling of cultures and the close connection that sports can establish between participants and spectators.
Jorge Jesus, the Portuguese coach of Al Hilal’s first football team, had a packed house. Along with Neymar, players like Malcom, Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Moroccan Yassine Bouno took part in the Saudi Ardha dance to show their appreciation for the club’s administrative and technical staff as well as their Saudi teammates in celebrating this significant Saudi national event.
Al Hilal, which has 17 points and is now ranked second among “Roshen” league clubs, continues to pursue excellence both on and off the field.
