Bryce James, LeBron James’s youngest kid, made a big impression in Memphis on Saturday.
James and several of his colleagues revealed the latest player-exclusive colorway of Ja Morant’s trademark Nike sneaker, nicknamed the “EYBL” Ja 1’s, while playing for Team Strive For Greatness in Session 4 of the Nike EYBL season. The new model has one blue shoe and one dark purple shoe, both with tie-dyed, mostly pastel swooshes.
James scored nine points in his team’s victory over Vegas Elite at the Memphis Sports and Events Center.
JA MORANT: Ja Morant’s latest sneaker has sold out on the SNKRS app, but stock is limited in Memphis physical stores.
The Ja 1 sneakers have become a coveted commodity, with each release exceeding expectations with swift sellouts.
Morant’s latest sneakers, which were made accessible to the general public earlier this week, sold out in minutes on the SNKRS app. However, numerous local retail establishments who got the previous two iterations of Morant’s new shoe line had yet to acquire the Ja 1 “Hunger” model, according to multiple people with direct knowledge of the matter.
Morant was barred from Grizzlies team activities on May 14 after an Instagram Live video of him displaying an apparent gun surfaced. The NBA is examining the footage and potentially impose a significant suspension on the all-star point guard to begin next season. Morant received an eight-game suspension in March after an initial Instagram Live video showed him with a gun in a Colorado bar.
